June Happy Planner Designs

I started June off with a new layout. Just felt like doing something different and I tend to switch things up now and then. I’d also recently found out that I didn’t make the Happy Planner Squad for 20-21 and was pretty disappointed, but since I already follow many of the ladies that did make it on Instagram, those winners definitely deserve to be there!!

In the meantime, I’ve decided to forge my own path and bought a Silhouette machine to make some of my own stickers. It’s been a learning experience for sure! Hours upon hours trying to figure out how to use the software, but I am slowly getting the hang of it.

So for the first spread of June, I switched from the Horizontal layout to a Dashboard. I have a Happy Planner Homebody dashboard layout planner that I use to keep track of social media and business related things. So I took the pages from that planner and designed them for my weekly planner this week. It took me all day and I do mean all day to design it. Not sure if it was a creative block or if it was because I took all my planner supplies outside to work on it and the new surroundings thru me off… not sure. I should have just gone back to my desk inside where I normally do my planner work, but it was such a nice Saturday and I wanted to enjoy the weather. Oh well. It ended up being a favorite spread and if the reduced writing space works out, I will do it again!

Most of the stickers are from The Happy Planner, but the dots and squares that I used as bullets were stickers that I made myself on transparent sticker paper. I also made the “No Talkie Before Coffee” sticker as well. Was so happy with the way they all turned out! At some point I’ll be selling my stickers, but for now I’m just focusing on learning and making my own.

Here it is!:

Almost too pretty to write on….especially with my messy handwriting! 😂

Next up – I enjoyed the Dashboard layout from last week so much that I decided to do another spread. I think I may just make June a Dashboard month! There really weren’t too many instances where I felt like there wasn’t enough space for me to write on, so it worked out well. For this weeks spread I chose some stickers that are primarily a periwinkle color. The space  under where I have the” Weekly Menu” banner was yellow. Since that didn’t match what I wanted to do, I decided to make a sticker to cover it. I also made the Circle and Square bullet stickers again this week as well as the coffee quote. Can’t go wrong with one of those!  I’ll get those posted over on the sticker page so you can see them in more detail. I am still learning how to make them, but getting a little better every week. My hope is to start selling them within a month or so.

Once again this month I did a Dashboard layout. This is really working out well for me and I didn’t think it would. I love the simplicity of it and I am using far less stickers than I did using the Horizontal layout. Another feature that I enjoy like is that my entire week is on the same page. I know that seems silly, but with the Horizontal design the beginning of the week is on the left and the end is on the right. I was always flipping the divider I use so I could look at each page. Not a big deal, just something I noticed that made it a little easier to use. Now, when the schedules in my family start going back to pre-corona virus and we’re all running in different directions, I’m not sure if this will be enough room, but for now I am REALLY loving this layout! I made stickers again this week to cover the yellow “dinner plans” banner with a “Weekly Menu” in a matching blush color, another coffee quote, as well as solid and transparent bullet points in circles and squares. I might have gone a little overboard with the circles and squares, but I really like them. 🤓

Dashboard Happy Planner Layout

I can’t believe it’s the last week of June already! 😳  So, for the last full week of the month I stuck with the Dashboard style layout. I think what really makes this style work so well is that I can put errands, miscellaneous non-time specific to-do’s, and my chores on the left and use the smaller date specific areas on the right for things I need to get done on specific days. Another favorite thing is that the overall design is cleaner and fresher compared to the pages in my Horizontal planner. I think I’m going to continue using it into July since it’s worked out so well. Once again, I made some of my own stickers. The “Be scared” quote, the Weekly Menu banner, and the circles bullets were created to match the colors in the Happy Planner Flower stickers. I made square bullets as well, but didn’t use them this week. The circles come in transparent (used in the errands area) and the solids were used in the dated areas. I hope to have all of the stickers I’ve made so far available for sale soon.
